Student Investment Challenge III
There is an ever increasing number of Vietnamese students studying in the UK with ambitions to pursue a financial career. Aiming to create an intellectually stimulating playground to nurture these ambitions, Vietpro (Vietnamese Professionals in the UK) in collaboration with VietSoc City University is organizing the third in the series of Student Investment Challenges (SIC).
This year we have witnessed a fierce trading competition between 59 teams from 35 different universities all over the UK. The top 5 teams with the brightest individuals were then invited to the final show-down in London (Cass business school) on 15th February 2014 to compete for the championship and the total prize money of £1,750. In a highly competitive environment, where a single error made the difference between victory and defeat, all five teams engaged in three rounds of case studies and financial exercises, covering a broad variety of current topics ranging from Fed tapering in the US to Abenomics in Japan. After four hours of battle DNST emerged as the glorious champions of this competition. We congratulate DNST to their excellent achievement and also all other four final contestants for distinguishing themselves and reaching the final.
1. DNST (LSC, UEA, Queen Mary)
2. ALA (UCL)
3. Bu Nhim Rom (Lancaster)
3. LTLT (UCL)
3. The United (City University)
